Celebrating 8 years of True Group.
Every business has a starting point, a moment where an idea meets action. For True Group, that moment came eight years ago.
Before the fleet, before the growth, and before the name True Group carried the weight it does today, it all began with one man, Tom Macfarlane with a clear vision, and just a single Bobcat Excavator.
There were no shortcuts. No guarantees of success. Just long days, relentless effort, and the determination to build something bigger. Like many businesses in the early stages, it required sacrifice, resilience, and an unwavering belief in the journey ahead.
What many people don’t know is that the company nearly took a very different name – TMP. However, what never changed was the mindset behind it: a commitment to doing things properly, building strong relationships, and delivering a service people could rely on.
Fast forward to today, and that small start has evolved into something much greater.
From its origins as True Plant Hire Ltd, the business has grown at an incredible pace, expanding both its fleet and its capabilities. What started as a plant hire operation has developed into True Group, a multi-division company offering a wide and continually growing range of services across the industry.
Despite that growth, the core values remain exactly the same. The same work ethic, the same drive, and the same commitment to quality still sit at the heart of everything we do. It’s those foundations that have allowed the business to scale while staying true to its roots.
Of course, no journey like this is ever achieved alone.
This milestone is a reflection of the people who have been part of the story along the way, our loyal customers who continue to trust us, our dedicated staff who go the extra mile every day, our suppliers who support our operations, and the families behind the scenes who make the hard work possible.
We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come in eight years. More importantly, we’re excited about where we’re going next.
Because if the last eight years have shown us anything, it’s that with the right mindset and a lot of graft, anything is possible.
