What began with a single 2-tonne excavator has grown into a multi-division operation serving the Midlands and beyond. True Group’s growth is built on strategic expansion, dedicated effort, and an unwavering commitment to getting the job done right, first time, every time.
Trueline Midlands Ltd was formed as a specialist ecological fencing and landscaping contractor. With a strong foundation in land-based work and a reputation for delivering quality and value, it wasn’t long before the business expanded into groundworks and civil engineering projects.
The addition of a single mini Bobcat digger marked the start of a fast-growing plant hire division. By 2018, True Plant Hire Ltd was formally established, offering a dependable, customer-focused solution for equipment and machinery hire across the Midlands. What began with just a few machines grew quickly into a fleet of over 200 excavators, telehandlers, dumpers, rollers, and more.
Recognising a growing need from clients for end-to-end service, True Plant Hire invested in a fleet of grab lorries and moved into aggregates and waste movement. The introduction of mobile crushing and screening services allowed us to process and re-use construction and demolition materials for clients, keeping projects sustainable and costs controlled. This year also saw the launch of our HGV haulage division, transporting heavy plant and machinery, not just for our own hire fleet, but also for clients needing reliable, specialist logistics support.
To keep up with demand and lead the way in sustainable operations, True Plant Hire invested over £5 million in cutting-edge plant and machinery. We also opened our Inert Waste Transfer Station, a key step in producing high-quality recycled hardcore and screened soils, helping reduce waste and boost material recovery. Our Lease division was introduced, providing flexible commercial vehicle leasing solutions for businesses across the UK.
To reflect the diverse operations and nationwide reach and with operations growing rapidly across multiple sectors, we evolved from True Plant Hire to become True Group – bringing together all of our expertise under one name. Operating across seven specialist divisions working together to deliver a comprehensive service offering; True Hire, True Grab, True Aggregates, True Lease, True Haulage, True Sales and True Contracting.
